I was high idling for about 2 weeks, around 2000rpm. pulling up on the pedal does no good, cable has a slight slack on it when released, lubed the tb springs to make sure they arent sticking, cleaned the maf, and ran seafoam tb cleaner. now its idling 3200rpm. if i flick the pedal it drops back to between 500-1000 or 1500 when warming up. havent had problems starting it like some on here. I'm going to try cleaning the iac, but i didnt hear anyone else mention flicked the pedal to get it to come down. does that have any diagnostic signifigance?

i have a 97 taco 257k with the same issues. after finding this site, have been going thru the throttle body, IAC, maf etc. still have the same issuse just not all the time. tomorrow i'm doing a pressure check! seems to me its starving for fuel!!! During the hard start issue hitting the gas pedal has no effect at any time since its and efi system -- regulator, vacumm hose ???? maybe

I am having the exact same problem out of my 2.7 with 255k. Starts/runs great anytime during the winter months all day long. One warm/hot summer days. Starts/runs great when motor has been sitting and cooled off for 20-30mins. A quick run into a store and back, she is hard to start, but once it starts she runs fine.

Must be an issue with a part that each motor uses. I am going to try the IAC cleaning...if that don't work I'll try the fuel filter.
