When my dad was buying the car, I remember asking the mechanic what they were for and he gave me a dumb answer that made him sound stupid. It was something like "PWR gives it more power and 2ND START makes it start in 2nd."

I pressed the 2ND button and on the speedometer it says "2nd STRT." Then when I accelerated, I guess the car starts in second. It's as if you were to put a standard car in 2nd gear and then release the clutch. My question is, what's the use of this?

Also, I tried the PWR button and didn't feel any difference. Can anyone explain these two buttons? Thanks! Sorry if my story/examples were confusing! :con:

Better traction in slippery conditions.

Wheels less likely to break traction with a 2nd gear start.

the pwr button allows the tranny to shift at higher RPMs & downshift quicker. Makes a big difference when passing on the highway (or driving like me in the city - lol)

the 2nd gear button is handy when you are really in the muck or snow
