Peeps with rears up front

Situation:
1982 Pickup Long Bed, Automatic Trans
rears up front from EMU
88-95 EMU rear springs in rear

so longer springs all around.

Do/did you experience the suspension loading up with foot on brake and shifting to drive or reverse? Everything is new and I hear a lot of popping and creaking while in gear and letting off of the brake to move and also while applying the brake from a role. Just wondering if this is normal.

The front pins in the rear spring are also too small for the bushings. I’ve searched far and wide for information on larger pins to noa avail.

Not a lot of help here from me.

Sounds like you need to atleast get an appropriate sized greasable fitting.

I took that pin out of the front spring mount on the rear spring. It's 18mm. The only bushings I could find are 19mm. OME and the one Marlin sells. .5mm clearance all the way around. I don't think this could be the cause of the pops and creaks. I was reading 4crawlers solution to this problem. He used some shrink tubing over the pin. I tried it out. It is a nice tight fit. Not sure how long it will last though.

I also ran down the creaks and pops. I tightened all of the body mounts to 25 lb-ft. and it pretty much eliminated it. I'll re-torque them in a couple of weeks again.
