overheating problem

i posted a thread previously about a blown head gasket. well the leak in the gasket was so small my mechanic highly recommended using block sealer. so i let him do it as a temporary fix until i get the engbldr kit. my question is will the car run cooler with the thermostat in or out? my theory was is so because it would give time for the radiator to do its job. but he seems to think it will be better out. im not really sure i have heard when both cases worked so thats why i need you guys to give some advice please. it's a 92 3.slow automatic.

like i said its overheating. its getting uncomfortably close to the red.

The engine should run cooler, but it will also take longer to warm up, which means more wear until it reaches operating temp. Either way, keep a close eye on the temp. Try to get it properly fixed asap.
