Thanks guys! I'm loving it so far. I got half way through polishing it and decided gloss black would match the truck better.

I wish I could find deals like that around here. $25 is a steal for that. Everyone around here is asking like $50-100 just for a plastic box.

Ya I was amazed when the guy told me he still had it...it was on Craigslist for over a week! They usually go for 100-300 used around here, if you can even find them.

do you have a pic of it from in your bed? i want to see the clearance to the wheel wells

also, do you have the measurements of the box?

i'm still kinda looking for one, and there are tons of these, very little with notched corners

(great job on the paint! if i can't find one, i'm gonna steal your idea)

Thanks! I thought it turned out pretty good for spray paint. Goes to show what a little prep work can do. Wire brush to scuff it up, alcohol rinse, then sprayed etching primer, 4 coats flat black, 3 coats gloss black, 3 coats clear. I may cut it with a mild rubbing compound at some point but after 10 hours working on it I'm not very motivated haha.

I'll take some measurements and better pics after work today.

I'll get some measurements & more pics up soon...gotta install new lift supports and finish mounting the box properly.

The cheapest place I could find lift supports at the common auto parts stores was $30 each and no one had them in stock...found some in a box of randoms at a local discount parts store called Brook's for $5 each! I've been getting hooked up lately!

Box measures roughly 61"Lx21"Wx14"H. Wheel tub clearance:

I have much more accurate measurements and can draft up a CAD drawing if anyone's interested.

Edit - the bungees and rope are a home-made elasticized dog-restraint system. If anyone wants more info on how it works or how it's made...let me know. It's more for safety than preventing your dog from escaping the bed but I'm sure jacketed cable would serve both purposes.

Thanks. Do you mean specs on the whole truck or just the box and/or dog restraint?

Believe it or not, spray paint.

I used several different brands but the final coats were Rustoleum gloss black and Duplicolor clear.

Edit - give me a day or two on the CAD drawing...bug me by Thursday if I haven't posted it. I don't have it drawn up just yet.
