LugNuts, I dont have the key socket!! help asap!!
 
I am in the middle of swapping the tires from my truck to the 4runner.
The wheels each have the one lugnut that needs he special key to remove it and i dont have the key!!!!


anyone have an idea how i could get them off??
i dont car if they are destroyed as long as the wheels and studs are okay

Its also easy to take an angle grinder to them and make them the size of a socket that you have.

got one off my buddies jeep with a vice grips, but obviously you'll need some space around the nut for that to work.

pound a socket on there. I have removed 2 sets like that. or like Numbchux said if u can get vise grips on there that works very good

i need a vice, i got one off but now its stuck in the socket.

the 19mm only worked on one and i used a smaler socket on the other one and now its stuck stuck stuck.

2wheels down 2 to go.

Take the socket with the lugnut stuck in it, and put it on top of a larger socket with the lugnut down. Use a drift punch down thru the square hole that the ratchet fits into to drive the lugnut out of the socket.

well, the end results of 5 hours.

i just took 2more sockets beat them onto the nuts with a BFH.
cheap sockets anyway.

byebye locking nuts.:wave:
