Looking for a good sounding muffler

Okay... after a full week of staring at my newly acquired, PAINFULLY stock '02 Tundra, I think I want to get a mew muffler. I think that the 4.7 sounds great but is just a little too restricting (3 catalytic converters? c'mon..) So, I want a muffler that compliments the natural sound of the 4.7, and not a loud rumbling Super 40 type. I want it just a little louder than stock, and a deep, mellow tone. I plan on keeping all other exhaust components stock for the time being due to warranty restrictions. What should I be looking for hear?

I love the sound of a tundra with a 14" magnaflow. But if you are going for just a little louder that stock you should look into the 18" magnaflow. Search on tundrasolutions.com. They have quite a bit of info on mufflers, and some sound clips.

If it has a 3" or larger exhaust you might want to check this one. Sound clip at this link

I would go with the 18" magnaflow. The sound is great and throaty. But it gets a little more quiet at higher speeds which is nice for the freeway. If you keep the stock piping (its large enough), and just weld in the muffler and a new tip youll be happy. Most places will do something like that for around 180.00. The mufflers arent too expensive if you go to an honest place.

Sweet... now a couple things I just thought of... Whats stock exhaust piping diameter on a 4.7? and, is it possible to use a single in/dual out muffler and do dual side exit setup? Will it clear the spare tire?

I think on the 4.7 it is our size. 2 3/8".

what about Borla...do they make mufflers for Toyota's? cause that would sound good on a 4.7L, maybe you can see if you can get a Borla muffler from another vehicle with same diameter pipes...just a thoght. i used to drive my companies Tundra, 03' 4.7L TRD S/C, stock pipes single outlet, and the sound was nice, i wouldn't have changed it, personally.
