Car won't go into drive but reverse works flawlessly
My 1990 Toyota Cressida recently had transmission troubles and now its permanently parked because I cant go into L 2 or D. Before it would struggle to take off in first as if the tranny was slipping. But it drove and shifted fine on highway driving. Then while driving back home the car suddenly stopped moving at all in drive 1 and L no matter how much throttle I gave it. Park neutral and reverse work flawless though. What im thinking is one of my gear sprags detonated. My fluid levels are fine with the engine cold and warm with no signs of metal particles on the dipstick. Any suggestions?
And BTW im running a stock 1JZ-GTE motor and A30-41LE trans from a JZX90 chaser.
