body work

Well i have cancer, and have been off of work for a few months recovering from surgeries and what not but im almost ready to go back to work within the next week or so(thank god im going batty sitting around home all day) and i can finally start making some money again. I will likely be picking up a desperately needed air compressor on monday or so, so i can finally start the body work on my yota. if theres any body guys out there i have an orbital sander and primer sprayer and im aiming to get the body straight and primed in the next few weeks and ready for paint in the spring. i figure ill go over the whole truck with 80 grit for base, then 40 grit in the dents to bondo up, then 80 grit the bondo smooth. is the 80 grit smooth enough to apply a filler primer with good resuilts or will i have to double back over the body with a 120 or something? also this will be my first autobody project what kind of primer should i use? is there any prep for the primer? or is it just pour in the gun and go? i know i want a filler primer to hide any imperfections but beyond that i really have no idea what im doing. also the previous jackass that owned my truck took the mirror off offroading and used 3 big sheet metal self tapping screws and screwed a ford mirror onto the door. a friend suggested i tape a pointed hammer and actually hit the holes to make a little dent then fill them in with bondo, is this a good way to deal with the problem?
