To all A340 transmission owners!

I know a lot of you guys run the A340 automatic series transmissions in your trucks and would like to have them shift a little bit better and not have the sluggish shifts that we have been use to.

I know for sure I am going to do these moddifications to my A340 behind my 1UZ and will report the results once I do it.

This may not be for some people but may be more to people running superchargers or making a lot more power then stock.

Mainly you shim the accumaltors and turn up the line pressure on the A340 transmission to increase the line pressure and lower the shift times in turn decreasing the slip on the clutch packs. Most people have been having good luck using 6 to 8mm shims and turning the pressure regulator 90 degrees. Now this will make the shifts faster and harder.

From what I understand this will increase the life on the transmission because there will be less slip and more grab kinda like a higher clamp load pressure plate on a manual will increase the life expectency of the clutch disk.

So hopefully this information may become useful to someone out there worried about their A340 behind that supercharged 5VZ or 22RTEs and whomever else wants to keep the auto and make lots of power.
