Aftermarket Oil Sender...which plug to use?

I'm trying to install my autometer oil pressure sender this weekend, and there are 2 plugs below the oil filter, one has to do w/ something with the oil pump, and the other plug is for an aftermarket sender. Problem is I don't know which one is which........I know Bob had a good write up on his page, but the website is down......Anyone know which one to use??

As I recall (from 5VZ-equipped **Tacomas**), there are 2 plugs in close proximity on the port side of the block. One is used for the factory low oil pressure sender / switch. The other is slightly forward of that. Both are threaded for 1/8" BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper).

You can use the OEM oil sender plug with a T-fitting (if you want both the OP gauge plus the OEM idiot light). If you don't want to continue having the idiot light, you can dispense with the OEM sender / switch, but you *may* need to do some additional tweaking to keep the dash idiot light from staying on. I've seen reports of both 'no action necessary' (to kill idiot light) and 'action necessary' (to keep it unlit).

I've seen reports that the other / similar port just forward of the OEM sender location can be used as well, but I don't think I've ever seen a pic of an installation using that one.

Hope this helps ...

There are 3 ports, 1 already has the stock idiot light sender and there are 2 more. One has something to do with the oil pump and the other is for an aftermarket sender. Anyone else???????
