35"x 10.5"x16 Tires--More Manufactures
OK--so like many people here on the board i am in the process of upgrading to 35" tires. Of course problem being is not the tire heigth, but the width. I know BFG make a skinny 35 but they rarely balance out and there are other tires that get better ratings.....want more choices
So point being--What if we contacted tire companies to ask them to make more 35" "skinnies"? I personally find the skinner tire to be better off road because we dont carry as much weight as other trucks.
I know there will be the argument where some like to float and others like to cut. Personally, i think the cut is more usefull than the float.
But do ya'll think? Probably or i would have better luck with Kim Kardashin (spell check on that last name).

Good luck with that - while you're at it, get them to make more 33x10.50 too.
The market is DOMINATED by full size trucks, who admittedly look silly on skinny tires, so the money just isn't in it for the big companies.
I wonder where all the "pizzacutter" Landrover guys get their tall/skinnies? Might be able to make some money importing from Europe/Africa...

i know about the others also but they dont last on the street. Rumor has it SSR and etc will wear in 10K. Pretty expensive proposition for new tires every year.
Really want a set of Yoko's in that size.
To answer the Wear do the LandRover guys get theirs--yep, overseas and they are very expensive for us here in the states.
Just an FYI--My 4runner had the same size tires as my friends Burban--Lets just say he went anywhere on the same set of tires--i was peeved

Good luck with this. I called BFG, and talked to several people on up the chain, begging them to put out a 35x10.50R15 in the new KM2, since the molds hadn't been made yet, and they weren't producing 15 sized tires for a year or more.
They told me quite bluntly that there was about zero market for that tire.
Seems only IFS toyotas want that size, and since the VAST majority of people swap their trucks, there probably won't be many manufacturers willing to put out that size.

sure make fun of us IFS guys--sheez.......Yeah i know
I just wish there would be a little more function over form....i.e. "I got big tires because they look cool". Oh well
Actually come to think of it------There is a new tire company that does retreads called Green Diamond Icelander.
They could do a skinny and cap with their tread......I should get ahold of them and chat-em up a bit--see what they say

I'm with you there. Most people swap there trucks for looks too, they want big tires, and big lift, and want to look like they are "hardcore". Really, they just don't want people to know they have a little penis.
I'll have to look at that green diamond tire.

I had brought it up with Pitbull tires, seeing as how they serve the offroad community pretty exclusively, and they were considering it, but I still don't see any of those sizes in their lineup ... maybe if more people called, they would do it - they were VERY attentive when I was talking to them...
Oh - and tall/skinny works best for all light vehicles like ours and Jeeps, whether SFA or IFS doesn't matter so much.

next best thing is a 295/75. bfg AT and hankook mt's come in that size. measures out to a 34 X 11.5-12ish.which yokes are you looking at? the geolander mt's?
SSR's are good, but sidewalls arent that great as with treadwear. and...they're heeeeavy ass tires. ensure on regearing if youre on anything taller than 4.56's if youre going with the intercos

I am looking at the Yokohama Geolander MT Plus.
Here is the tire we need--a 265/90/16--in metric.
Clicked the above thread but they dont have that size---I guess we could put pressure on Pitbull--but then again cost is going to be pretty steep for PB's. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. Maybe, just maybe somebody will try to capitalize since Yota's are being used more often in 4wheeling

Those actually measure out to just barely over a 33, (33.4 inches if you do the math) and 11.6 inches wide. then you figure out the difference in BFG sizes from the nominal size, and its probably right at a 33.
BFG itself actually says....33.2 inches. (the BFG 33X10.50 is only 32.7 inches)

Interco Q78, 35.5" x 11.5, They are listed under "Super Swamper" on the Interco site, Prod. Code SAM-53. You could bead balance them if your worried about the shakes, noise? well they are TSL design so you cant expect much there.

I like to go for the wider tires since im only running 33's i tried 32x10.5 but i found that it really depends on what terrain your on. the 32's were great on the rocks because of the added friction from the more narrow footprint, but they sucked in the mud because they werent tall enough to reach the grippy stuff, and they were very unstable in the desert.

Hey i have an idea--what if we approached a manufacture and wanted a group buy on these. I would go the SSR Route but they dont last on the street. I.e. we found a tire we all liked approached them with a group buy?
What says you?
