Is there a way to post image attachments that makes the attachment "viewable" instead of a link?

I dont mean linking an image that is hosted somewhere else, but an image you actually upload to YT.

Thanks!

You can but only with small images. Scroll down to 'Additional Options' and you'll see 'Attach Files'. Click 'Manage Attachments' and then select the file you want and upload it. I've attached one below.

Eric, that is exactly what I meant, I dont see the image you attached, but only a link to it. I want the images I attach to be displayed. I know it can be done, because I do it all he time in other forums, is it my options maybe?

By the way, i checked my options and have "Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)" checked, everything looks OK, I just cant see the attachments.

That's about the limit of my computer and forum knowledge. I know I've posted thumbnail images before, but now it's appearing the same as yours. Best thing is ask one of the admins.

Sorry couldn't help more

That feature use to work here, it would show a thumbnail of your attachment before you click on the link to see it full size.

I will have to look into it.
Software settings and other things break down over time on forums as we upgrade, may be a feature I mislooked in the settings.

Let me give this a shot. I used to upload images to YT but found it easier to use a third party host. Go to http://photobucket.com/ (or another free photo hosting website). After you login and upload a picture. It will give you a bunch of links below the photo. "Url" "Tag" "Img" Click on the "Img" and copy the text. Past it in here:

Voila- Image appears. By using a third party host you can keep a larger reslolution and edit images w/o editing software. Comes in handy when you are on someone elses machine w/o Photoshop. Hope this helps.

Thanks Corey!

AC, we are talking about something completely different.
We are talking about images hosted on this server, not external servers.

ac808m May 20, 2006 09:08 AM

I understand that. But, with so many other options available for hosting, why host on this server? Just a thought and my 2cents

It is working now for new attachments, I had to turn some stuff on.

Great job, thanks very much Corey ;)
