Looking for a few good Mods (2009 Edition)

Greetings YTr's. As YT continues to grow we find that our Staff needs to as well! We are looking to add 2 or 3 new moderators for 2009.

We want folks who will be dedicated to helping out on a daily basis. Candidates need to be even keeled, have a sense of humor and not take things personaly.

Feel free to nominate someone here, or yourself.

PLEASE: DO NOT MUCK THIS THREAD UP WITH OFF TOPIC BANTER OR POST PADDING

Any off topic or inflammatory post in this thread WILL BE DELETED

All these dire warning's aside... ;) I am excited to see who we come up with to help the staff out! :bigok:

I appreciate the nomination :)

I second said nomination :D

*edit* I also second Scubas nomination.....because he is a crybaby. And every staff needs a crybaby. :D

I definitely have the time, and someone suggested I should go ahead and throw my hat in the ring.:hillbill:

I would also like to be a Mod. Although I do occasionally break the rules with my mouth. I could then enforce them.

I also say Scuba and Deathcougar are good!

stagger_lee Jan 12, 2009 08:52 PM

I second votes for Cougar, Harleyman and Scuba. Always good input from Coug and Harley and scoob never sleeps, soo...

Thanks for stepping up guys!
Granted, the past few months I haven't been nearly as active as usual - I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I've put some money to the site, and I have no problem donating some time. I have lots of respect for the current mods, as I know this is a mostly thankless job. Even though I've only been here for 18 months, this is an amazing site, and I am happy to have discovered it.

Thanks.

It is a thankless job indeed.

A few (not all) requirements for those who may not know what is involved:

1. Ability to handle a problem thread if no other staff member is logged in.
All staff gets emailed when a thread/post gets reported, and we try to handle them in a timely manner.
Sometimes that does not happen if staff is away.

2. Handle spam threads by moving them to a section called "Spam holding tank."
Piece of cake, the tools are there to move a thread, and do it without a redirect.
If the latter is chosen, members will click the new link and get an error since they can not view the spam holding tank.
Ban the nasty spammer and send him/her/bot on their merry way.
Spam is something we have to live with here, ad spammers want to do what they do best, spam ya all :D

3. Help handle threads that get out of control and help guide them back on course.

There is more, but it comes with learning the ropes here.
Since most members know the rules here and what we allow/disallow, a lot of members here also help out and shut down those who try and cause discord here.
You get it on any forum, but here we try and keep this place steered towards a family atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Believe it or not, we get many compliments all the time via PMs and email on the values that we uphold here in trying to keep this a family/work safe place to surf at any time.

There are far to many other forums out there that allow anything to go in threads, we are not one of them.
