Throttle cable question
 

Hi, I am installing a Weber carb on my 20R. The plastic bit that holds the throttle cable and goes through the firewall has broken. I don't understand the basics of the throttle cable. Does that piece in the firewall hold tension on the cable? Or is it just a pass through?
