Synthetic Oils
Hey everyone, I have A 1989 FJ62 with 221,000 miles. She runs like a champ and she doesn't leak any fluids. I'm wanting to change all of the fluids, motor oil, transmission, transfer case and the differentials. I'm wanting to go with Royal Purple for the fluids. I've both been told and read that if I change the fluids in such a high mileage vehicle, that I'm only asking for trouble in the future. I contacted the Toyota House and they said "No problem". Royal Purple website says "Shouldn't cause any leaks" Seeking any and all input and experiences dealing with this subject.

you don't really need synthetics, but if you want them it shouldn't cause any leaks, that is a myth.

If it were mine, I'd just stick with conventional oils. But there are countless threads on this subject on this site. Use the Search function...it will do wonders.
by the way, Welcome to Yotatech! |
