RN101~N018XXX Chassis ID

Hello:

I just picked up this 4 X 4 Morph and was told it had a Blazer frame but I found this chassis number RN101~N018XXX and after much hunting I think it's a 1992 Chassis from a 1/2 ton 6' bed 4 X 4,but, is it the Tacoma ?? or could it be for another truck? I wish to know so I can rebuild and repair the axles, etc. in the future. I guess the last 6 numerals tell me it's around the ## 18,000th Truck built in 1992. I have a different body on the chassis and the VIN# from that wouldn't help, believe me LOL... Thanks for your help. Scott

That is an interesting rig!

As far as I can tell, the frame is from a 1989-1995 Toyota 4WD Truck (before the Tacoma).

The frame is the short wheelbase (originally a standard cab, short bed), and originally had a 22R-E engine.

The frame has been modified.

Who knows what axles you have. The U.S. Trucks with that frame did not have a solid front axle, they were all independent front suspension.

interesting hybrid

can you take a picture of your cross member and transfer cases?
looking at your rear pinion angle it looks like they used the stock crossmember and used a plate to mount dual transfer cases?

It has the early V-6 Vortec 4.3 with some goodies installed. Let's just say it thinks it's a big block. I don't know how many horses but I hear them in there..:D.I am yet to get to the numbers on the top rear of the block to get a date yet. Supposedly out of a Blazer approx. 1998-2000.

I was told that it had Toyota Land Cruiser axles and that made sense until I found the frame was indeed Toyota but I'm not sure if the 1992 Pick-ups had that type of ball axle up front. I forget what that is called.
