A Proper SAS for my '93 Pickup

Hey guys, I have a 1993 Toyota Pickup...it's a little blue truck and I want to replace the independent front axle with a solid front axle, and then ultimately put leaf springs and higher mounts to do a 'proper' lift for it (and maybe some spacers, but I don't know).

Right now, everything underneath is stock (axle wise) and I want to keep the back axle on there (it's in good condition and is a solid axle, obviously). What I need to know is what kind of solid axle should I put under the front if I want to do a swap, but have the width from tire to tire the same for the front and back (so that the front doesn't stick out too far/in, you know what I'm saying.

I'm kind of new to all of this stuff and I'll be doing this with my dad. At this point, I'm just waited to see what kind of axle i need to find to do this properly. Thanks!

You should post this in the correct forum. The toyota pickup (pre tacoma trucks) and the T100 are not the same vehicle.

By the way, I did quite a few searches and posted on other forums but found nothing useful, at least not close enough for what i want to do.

take a look in the offroad tech section. theres been hundreds of solid axle swap threads on here.

Your best bet would be to use the solid front axle out of an 84 or 85 pick up or 4runner. the widths arent going to be the same, but you should get wheel spacers with any SAS kit you buy.

Another thing to think about is that that axle is most likely going to have 410 gears in it(correct me if im wrong any one). whats the gear ratio on your truck right now? if its the v6 or an automatic, then they might be 488s or 430s or 456....ithink

Not sure exactly, but I will be doing a motor/tranny swap from a 3.4L v6 (from a 97 taco) into it. I want to do the axle swap before i do that, though. My plan is to do the axle swap, drive the motor and tranny that's in it til it dies officially, and switch the tranny and motor from the 97 taco.

if the front and rear gear ratios aren't the same you wont be able to use your 4wd i think.
