Newb from Virginia Beach about to get the ball rolling

Hey everybody,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I have a 3rd gen 4runner that I've had for nearly 4 years now. I have hardly done a thing to it but I'm starting to drive it more and think its time. I'm not new to working on vehicles (other projects) but haven't done the truck thing since my 84 4x4 more than ten years ago.

Right now I'm looking to replace the aging wheels and tires with OEM wheels and 275/70/16 BFGs. No lift is planned so this setup should work nicely. I also plan to do a couple of the intake mods I've read about recently. A little more umph would be nice.

I wonder if there would be any value to dynoing each of the intake mods instead of using the butt dyno. Has this already been done?

Anyway, this site is a great resource, hope I'll be able to add something.

whats up man!

There are a lot of toyota guys out in the VB/norfolk area. Check out www.marylandttora.com

I as well plan on doing the Deckplate mod..finally

If you have access to a free dyno, I'd say go for it.

The dyno wouldn't be free but might be worth it. I'll check the site out.

Welcome, used to live in Va beach (plaza area and later Ocean Lakes) and still visit family there every once in awhile.

Thanks, I'm not far from Ocean Lakes, I live near London Bridge and General Booth.
