Machine work

Just curious on an estimate to get a head machined

The prices vary widely. Depends so much on where you live and the type of shop, and of course how much work it needs. They'll test for leaks and check for flatness and let you know how bad off it is. If it needs everything, it'll be cheaper to just a new head. The shop I used tested mine for free, which let me know it had already been shaved too far as it was. Then they proceeded to rip me off for the rest of the work, lol. Before they do any work, get an agreement in writing based off a price you can afford.

About 1.5 years ago, it was going to cost me between $200 to $250 to have a cylinder head valve job. I trust the shop, but it was going to be over a month before they could do the job. Ending up buying a new complete EngineTech cylinder head for around $250 shipped from RockAuto.
