I'm sure this been covered but...ITS A STARTER QUESTION?
I've got a 2000 SR5 Sport Edition 4Runner V6. I had the intermittent starting thing going. Sometimes it click, click, click, then start. So me and a friend of mine thought it might be the corrosion on the cables. I cleaned the cable terminals and filed/sanded the battery terminals clean, put some Vaseline on them its been clean ever since.
Then I got the click, click, start again, but no corrosion. Then it just stop starting. Buddy of mine got under it hit the starter a few times, it started it for a week or so then it stopped.
So based on what I've read so far it could be.
--Bad Contacts
--Bad Cables
--Bad Starter
Any thoughts please!>!>!

did you try a search
Well I can tell you I'm alomst positive this under the search link, but I will tell you pretty darn sure its the starter going out, I push started mine for a month till I had the money. not to bad, in prize, but it is a most maybe check under the search button and there might be a way just to change the selinod (mispelled) the connector on the starter that you hear clicking.
By the way welcome

Thanks for the Welcome KMCC.
As for the search. It did give me tons of info but that was the problem. Having to piece all those bits of info is tough. Thats why I put down what I narrowed it down to. I was just hoping someone could pinpoint it for me.

yes, that is part of the process here. search, read and if you have good follow up questions, people will be more than generous in helping you out.
so in your extensive searching, what bits and pieces of info did you find? what didn't you understand? did you search "starter contact" like kmcc advised you to? what did you find?
...and this question is moved to the noob section

Well bob, I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not but after my "extensive searching" and yes I did search "starter contact" ACTUALLY before I even posted, I came up with the 3 things that seemed to be most fitting. Thats why in the beginning of my post it said what my exact situation was and what I gathered after reading several different posts and write ups.
I think I'm just going go to with the starter contacts and hope for the best. Thanks for moving my post to the noob section. Didn't mean to be a pest.

your post was moved to the noob section because it is a thoroughly covered topic. if you have a problem with this, address it with corey or kctopher (admins). in addition, it also will prevent members from inevitably flaming you tomorrow because member questions in the noob section are not allowed to be told to search. you did read that in the rules section, right?
