I need help on O2 Sensor
 

hello everyone, my car just pop up the engine check light and I pulled the code, it's P0133 bank one sensor.

I called several dealer and they are asking at least $320 to replace. I found autopart warehouse and not sure which one should I order.

Do not let the dealer do it, it is super easy to change out, but i would suggest buying the sensor from the dealer, at my dealer its $152, i tried some after market sensors and the plugs did not match up. all you need to change it, is a socket set to pull the old one off and disconect the battery to clear the code. good luck

use a factory sensor man,you can likely change it yourself

Ditto and it's not just "factory fit", Denso is the OEM O2 sensor (same as you'd get from the dealer). Make sure you order the correct one for your year 4runner since the 96-98 use a different front sensor than the 99-02's.

Ditto on all of the above, just be sure your Truck is not California emissions before you order your part. For Cali emissions, I am pretty sure that others here have reported a more expensive O2 sensor. If its Fed emissions the $89 Denso from URD will work great.

I know, I have done it myself. 10 minute job as long as the truck is cooled off. Took me longer to find the wrench than it did to change the O2 sensor and clear the code. Plus it improved my mileage.

Just look on the under side of your hood and find out if it is Fed or California. Being that you live in the PRC (Peoples Republic of California) its probably Cali emissions. (sorry, no love loss here with CA. Lived there for 15 years before I saw the light.)

why not... I just ordered one even though I'm not thowing any codes.

It will depend a bit on if you live in a rust belt or not (sometimes those O2 nuts are rusted pretty badly from the heat).

Gosh I miss living in AZ where the vehicles stay as rust-free as the day you bought them!
.....but we don't have heat that kills batteries, dry rots rubber in a heartbeat, etc either. :laugh:

Yes, Bank 1, Sensor 1 is the O2 sensor located closest to the engine before the converter.

Pepsilover check this out: Northridge Toyota, parts director/manager Evan Nichols: parts@northridgetoyota.com or call 888-381-0623. Give them your VIN and they can get you the part you need. I did this on my 95 Runner and in two days had the sensor in hand, genuine Toyota OEM O2 sensor in toyota packaging $98 shipped! Got the information here on YotaTech. FAst cheap and in 10 minutes I changed out my O2 sensor, reset my CEL (check engine light) and was back at it!
