My opinion, after paying $750 and still not having a working system that looks like a hack job because universal, aftermarket parts were used 5 years ago (ACKits.com boo)- Go to a junkyard, get original parts. Do what it takes, even if it means converting an old R13 system to new 114A or whatever. Factory parts work better and look like factory parts should, they're made to fit. Getting the evaporator box, condensor, compressor, and lines out of an old junked truck will show you how to put them into your truck too since you'll remember right where they were found when you pulled them. Stay Cool!

Don`t forget you will also need the heater box that you are wanting the evap coil from because non AC vehicles do not have the same box.

If it was me and I was going to do this I would buy the complete vehicle with a complete AC system still sealed.

You buy parts here and there from open systems it will be a real mess to get all the dirt etc out.

Also be a good idea to have a vacuum pump and your gauges for making sure you have all the leaks repaired even if you have no source for the 134A.

It would be real bad to get it all installed every thing back in place only to find your evap coil has a crack you couldn`t see

Good luck

There's a lot more involve putting a/c into a vehicle that never had it...electrical wiring is probably going to be the most frustrating part, unless you're familiar with that already. There are quite a few writeups however on how to do it, use the search feature and google. Its an ambitious project, good luck!
