How to make exhaust louder?
i was just thinking i want my exhaust to be a little more noticable when im coming down the street. How can i do this without spending much if any money and without harming my engine or reliability. I hope theres some people out there who had the same idea to give some info. just a random question that popped into my head so thanks for lookin

I think certain older GM vehicles could do better without the cat or muffler, but, with newer trucks I wouldn't do this at all for several reasons!!

Kill 2 birds with one stone and throw a set of headers on; it will open up that s/c and give you a little more rumble at the same time.
Edit: not as easy as "throwing" them on though....

check your emissions laws!.. my county here in Ga a cat is a requirement, it will fail if I take it out. but im kicking around the idea of chopping my pipe a few inches after the exhaust.. itll make it louder, wont hurt the engine? and i can wels it back on if I need to then i can put in a flowmaster when i get money.

just unbolt the exhuast between the cat and muffler and see if you like the sound, thats what i did, and people say it sounds a little ricer like but i didnt really feel like the spending the money at the time, and i think it sounds better than the stock exhaust haha
