High steer kit

Sorry if all this has been asked and answered before but i got a question about high steer kits. I own an 85 longbed and an 86 ex cab that i use for parts due to cracked frame. I'm purchasing a high steer kit from addicted offroads website to fit on my 85 because i plan to go higher on my lift which is only a 4'' right now. I'm over the stock push and pull steering. Besides an IFS steering box adapter plate and some time, what else will I need to do this install?

welcome to YT:D

you are pretty much on target for what you need:
Minimum 3" lift
High steer kit
IFS steering box
IFS mounting kit/adapter plate--> I suggest you use a 3/4" hole saw when drilling the frame. it took me forever using a 3/4" bit

you might find these pics helpful when you do the install:

The IFS box mount is pretty simple. Cut the fender well so you can easily access the PS box area like shown in my pictures posted already and then push the box all the way forward until it is on the core. Angle it so the holes line up on the frame in the center and then test fit your mounting plates. Tack weld and test fit again to make sure the pitman arm clears and weld out.

what you don't want to have happen when you install your high steer:
