Getting ready to ZUK the pickup-how much lift?
I finally jacked up the rear end of my truck yesterday to see how much room I had between the leaf pack and the frame at full droop. I haven't seen any ZUK'ed pickups on the side aside from TFE's so I'm curious how much lift I'm going to get out of it:
From the angle of the camera it looks like a full 12 1/4" but it's actually more like 12 3/8". I was measuring from the lip on the bottom of the snubber/bumpstop where the spring will seat. I want to get as much lift and weight capacity as possible out of this mod because I want to clear 35s and haul a lot of firewood, so I was planning on going with a 14" 250lb spring. I know that Philbert used 14" 150lb springs on his 4Runner, but its hard to tell how much lift he got since he removed the 4" blocks at the same time. Plus ZUK mentioned that if he wanted more lift he could have gone with a longer shackle as well. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and order a set of 2" greaseables to install at the same time? Or will the 14" spring give me enough lift as it is?

I got ~4" of lift from 14"/125lb coils. Which makes sense, since I pulled 4" blocks out and the trucks stance was the same. 250lb coils are going to be really stiff.

I recently did this. I work for Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge so I took the front springs off of a new Wrangler that were gonna be thrown away due to the jeep getting a lift kit. I cut them down a little bit and got about 2 inches from them and bought rough country shocks. So far I have no complaints. Its a little rough ride, but I knew it would be

I talked to ZUK about it and he recommended 225s or 250s. This will not be a DD truck. I will use it for hunting, hauling firewood (the reason for going with the 250s), and wheeling, mostly which is all local trips. The only time I'll drive it any long distance is if we get a bad snowstorm and I don't feel like taking the Corolla 40 miles to work. If the 250s really are that bad I'll just swap them out for 175s or 200s. My biggest concern was the amount of lift. 4" sounds good
