FJ 80 parts, what can I use??
Help. I have a 92 SR5 w/ 3.0 -- I found a wrecked 94 Cruiser and am in the process of buying the rear springs. What I'm curious about is weather I can use the LSD also, or rear axle? Or mabye one from a Taco? I can only take open diffs and 31's for so long!!! Thanks in advance.

The axles are wider. The rear has an offset diff. The rear third is bigger, but the front would work (although, it's probably a high pinion and will be weaker in a rear application)
Tie rods, rod ends, etc can be made to work and are a significant strength upgrade. |
he could do an SAS with the front axle, but wouldnt it be a custom job?

ALL SAS's are custom jobs.
The LC axle is a great width, and if you could find a HP elocked one, you would be all ready to go, but the steering setup needs a lot of modification to work in a SAS application, and high steer is serious money, so most people shy away from them in favor of the minitruck axles. |
Is the front axle on the correct side, I mean the pumpkin?
I just came upon a landcruiser myself and I might try to grab the axles out of it too? Hmm, trying to get rear springs and rims off of it later today:) |
Both the front and rear axles are passenger drop.
You will have to relocate the fuel tank to clear the driveshaft to use the rear axle. |
Front LC axles will also require the removal of the coil buckets and addition of spring perches for a non-linked SAS app.
