yes it would help alot. if your gonna stick with those 34" tires i would go with 4:88's

ok thankyou :D also tho, would it be overkill to just go straight to 5.29 right now, so for in the future when i get bigger tires i would still have power?, what am i expecting with 34`s and 5.29s :P and how much are 5.29s, where can i find them, and how much is it to have a shop install them for me.

5:29's would be a lil overkill but i think you would be fine unless hitting the freeway! with 34's and 5:29's you would at like 5th gear at like a lil over 3,000 rpm's. i think! 488's are a lil more money for some reason but 529's are about $150 per axel you can find them everywhere! randy's ring and pinion. trail gear, marlin, all-pro. it depends on the shop and where your at for install pricing!!

lol. yes you would do fine on the hwy lol. 60 at about 3000rpm is my ruff guestimate but its close!

yes if u gear the back you have to gear the front to match! if u ever plan to use your 4wheel drive.

yes they make gears for ifs! you will need 8" gears for the back and 7.5" gears for the front.

ok, sweet, thanks for your help :D so i have to buy new gears for the front AND back, were you saying it would be about 150 bucks for the GEARS? or to just have them installed... hah sorry for all the questions, id just rather be well informed and not have to second guess anything.. which brand is the most recommended brand of gears that people have put in? and is it even that hard to install them yourself?

150 an axel just for ring and pinion! install kits are like 100/150 also

i like precision gear. but imo most top brands are close to the same.

Brand is not as important as having them installed correctly. Besides most "brands" share manufacturers so in the end it doesn't make a big difference. I'd just avoid Genuine Gears. Bad reputation. So get Precision, Yukon, Motive whatever of those 3 is the cheapest since it won't matter. You buy a set of Yukons and it will be Motives in the box and vice versas.

Check out www.gearinstalls.com, he did my rear diff. His prices are reasonable but you will have to ship stuff to him which is inconvienent for some. At the very least read his site and educate yourself on what is needed to do the job right. They way you can make sure your local guy is doing a good job.

I'd say you are looking at a minimum of $800 to do both ends, but more like $1000 to do it right. Parts will be $500 between 2 sets of gears and bearings. Then labor

What tranny do you have? With an auto, you might need 5.29 w/ the 34's. There are several links on this forum regarding gearing, tires, speed, engine speed, etc.
