Can i fit 265/75/16 without cutting and rubbing?
 

I just got my first car, 98 4runner sr5, 4x4, 5 speed, its got the 265/70/16's.
My tires however will need to be replaced soon. I was wondering if a 75 series tire would fit without a lift. Also my speedo is off by 7mph regularly according to my TomTom GPS, where can i get a something to correct my speedo.

Please search. Your first post was the deckplate mod and now you want to know if 265/76/16's will fit. Please search but the answer is they will fit w/ no issues.

Couple questions:

Tires: Have you searched? I know you have done some searching before from the other thread you posted.

Speed: Which direction is it off? The only true way to fix this is to regear, but this isn't really a viable option. The other option is an electronic a la here. I don't think this is a good idea, as it only changes the speedo and not the odometer/trip meter.

Your 265/75/16's should fit fine. My speedo is closer to actual speed now that I've increased my tire size from 265/70/16 to 265/75/16. You might find that the size increase will get yours closer also. In which direction is your speedo currently off? (reading higher or lower than it should?)

First off thank you for a civil answer to my question. My speedo is saying i am traveling slower than i actually am. Around 7MPH off.

If I understand what your saying, when you're speedo says 60mph you're actually traveling at 67, correct? If that's the case, getting bigger tires will just make the problem worse.

My 265/75/16's Pirelli Scorpians rubbed until I got a 1" body lift.

Yes you are correct.

They'll fit....but I'm still not convinced that they aren't the cause of my vibration problem. I never had vibration problems when I had 265/70/16s but every set of 75s has given me pretty strong vibration above 65+ mph.

The 265/75/15 is an inch smaller. The metic sizes are based on sidewall height instead of overall diameter.

Sounds like you have a tire balance issue. Where do you have your tires balanced, and do they have the proper adapter for lug-centric wheels? You shouldn't have vibration problems with this size unless they aren't balanced properly.

as stated, they will fit no problem. I wouldnt worry about a power loss, I have the v6 auto, and I never noticed a power loss when changing to a 265/75 from a 265/70. The mpgs went down a little, even though the odo is off, but I thinks its from the tread of an AT rather then the stock dunlops.

Is what he said here a common problem because i regularly travel at 85-90MPH and i dont want insane vibrations? I can live with some but "pretty strong vibration".
