need info on stock Backspacing

how much backspacing do the stock 1998 4runner s45 4x4s have?

As far as I know it's 4 3/8" on a 16" rim.

My 96 4Runner (stock 16" alloys) had 4.75" BS.

can you change the backspacing on stock rims? or do you have to buy new rims to get a wider stance?
