Back to the future truck sfa or ifs?

Hey guys so there's a few old threads about the back to the future truck and people are saying they used an ifs pickup in BTTF 3 for some shots.
I've been watching all the movies and can't see any IFS pickup indications. Anyone have any proof or can someone tell me which shot they think has an IFS front end?

Here's my truck http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w...7/0a2886b7.jpg

Pretty sure Dannys truck was a 85 and a solid axle.

between that movie and my parents always driving Toyota's it made me want a pick up like he had..... but i ended up with a 91 4runner instead.

if you plan on driving the truck for more everyday use. keep it IFS. if you do a SAS. it will be kinda hard to keep it low since the frames are different compared to SFA trucks. im sure once you do a SAS, you can build or use a leaf set up for a low build but i cant imaging it riding good at all with no travel lol. even looking at the picture above, you can see the front spring is negatively arched

It would never look the same if it was SAS unless the front hanger was frenched into the frame, and then there would not be enough room for typical crossover steering which would be a downgrade to go to push-pull steering, I would keep it IFS as well.

Keep it IFS.

All you need now is the "TOYOTA" decal across the top of the windshield.

I don't remember seeing an IFS front end. But I could almost swear that in one of the shots, I think it's when he first sees the truck in the garage, there's a "Turbo" badge/emblem on/in it somewhere. Which would make it an 86-87, and IFS. I don't own the movie though...so I can't prove/disprove that at this point. I could be mistaken too...I suppose.:dunno:

Ya id have to do a slight 2 inch lift for the steering. Something to think about.

Thanks. It's been a long road to get it there. And a lot of money.

Yeah man so many times I've thought about getting a 4runner.

Yeah I have mixed emotions. I might buy an 85 and do it all over again

Yeah I've heard this too.

But after watching every scene in bluray I've yet to see any ifs components.

waskillywabbit 06-05-2012 07:31 AM

Want to sell it? Post a classified ad.

:wabbit2:

Greg_Canada 06-11-2012 10:07 AM

I think he's toying with the idea of selling it, doubt he would actually do it.
