Aussie Locker

I've got a line on a used aussie locker and 3rd for the rear with 4.10s. Any worries about buying used thirds with lockers in them already? It's out of an 87 22R and going into my 88 V6 w/4.10s. Are these good lockers? I know they aren't ARB or Detriots and not selectable. What's your experience with them? I've read that alot people like the lockrite, but haven't heard anything about aussie.

I've never heard a bad thing about the Aussie, if I was to do a lunch box locker, it would be my choice. IMO, buying one with a locker already is no worse than buying the locker yourself. I got my Detroit (I know, not the same) used, the only thing different was that it was already broken in when I got it.

Anybody else have opinions on Aussie locker?

Don't have one yet but have heard a lot of good stuff about them, there is a good thread in the Toyota folder over on Pirate. For about $250/locker I will hopefully be putting one in both ends of my '81 by spring...

Thanks and I read your threads with slacker on the trekkers and trailblazers. Spring is when you want to buy some fiberglass parts from him isn't it?
Thanks for the input.

search for aussie locker. They are awesome for what you are getting; a lunchbox locker.

Other opinions and or experiences?

liferunner2 Dec 21, 2007 07:10 AM

I've got no opinion on the locker itself, but that third is from a 22r you say, and going behind your 3vze. They had different housings, the I4 & V6, with the I4 suppossedly being slightly weaker, IDK. Also, I think the DS flange is going to have a different bolt pattern but you can pick up a different one from MC I believe.

Thanks Chris, I had not thought of that.
