94 4 runner dying

I was looking at buying a 94 toyota 4runner v6 4x4 and i couldnt get it to start. it would run for a couple seconds and shut off. The kid i was gonna buy it from put a cheap chinese ebay pump in it so i bought a new denso one and no difference. So i looked up some stuff and tried messing with the MAS door and no go. i hot wired the fuel pump by bridging the plugs in the diagnostic plug. i replaced the filter, fuel pump relay, no fuel leaks, nothing. Any ideas cause im lost. oh and i flashed the ecu getting a code 24 which is intake temp sensor which is just hanging in the engine bay aparently the last owner broke where it goes and just welded up the lines. would that make it not run the kid said it ran when he first got it and it was already like that.

Welcome to yotatech.com.
Yes, download the FSM from the link in my signature, open up the "complete repair manual" link, and read the section titled "R.M. 1995::3vz-e Engine: Mfi System: Diagnosis System (4RUNNER)" Just throwing parts at this engine will cost you a fortune. Get yourself a multi meter, and figure out what is wrong from the testing procedures.
