What's wrong with yours? Or do you not have one? If you still do then all you have to do is take it to any shop that works on drive shafts or u joints and get it fixed if you cannot find a replacement. That's what I did on my 82. It had a crap repair job done on it and I also could not find a replacement so they just fixed the one I had and they balanced it too.

Ya mines crap, i brought it to a shop called 6 states hopefully they can fix it so i can do some wheelin! Life sucks with 2wd.
Thanks for the reply! |
If it is beyond repair Having a new one made is not really that expensive.
I rebuild these trucks so I have needed to have several made with grease fittings on the ujoints.:fire: |
since you are in PDX: Give Brian a call at http://www.drivelinetech.com/home.php
Light truck parts on Foster usually has a stack of front drive shafts $75: http://www.lighttruckpart.com/ just be aware that later model trucks 86+ the drive shaft will be about 4" long and will require that you clearance the CV. or check the stickies and you might have found this: Toyota Truck Dismantlers: body parts/axles etc The Toy Man (newberg, OR) http://www.thetoyotaman.com/ MazToy (troutdale, OR)http://maztoy.com/ Davez Off Road: http://www.davezoffroadperformance.com/ Yotayard (colorado) http://www.yotayard.com/home.htm Jim's Got Parts (Denver, CO) http://jimsgotparts.com/ California Mini Trucks (Cali) http://www.calminitruck.com/ NIX99 (washington state) http://nix99.com/ Rancho Toyota Truck Dismantler (Cali) http://www.ranchotoyotatruckparts.com/ toy truckc (CA) http://www.toytruckscalifornia.com/ Toy Connection (CA) http://www.toyconnection4x4.com/home.html All Toyota Truck and SUV (CA) http://www.alltoyotatrucksuvparts.com/ ToyoKings (FLA) http://www.toyokingsusedparts.com/ Yotatech Classifields :https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f91/ TTORA Classifieds: http://ttora.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=3 Pirate classifieds: http://pirate4x4.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=4 Parts Locators: http://www.autopartslocator.com/ http://www.seekautoparts.com/ DeNaples (Dunmore, PA) http://www.denaples.com/ New sheetmetal parts-Rust Repair Panels: http://www.alfaparts.net/toyotapu.htm |
Will the 86 and newer just bolt right up?
|
im not sure if the drive shafts are interchangeable but if they are im in beverton and i have two spare drive lines for a 91 4runner ifs on my roof-rack, i dont mind helping a fellow yota out. let me know
|
80 to 83 will only fit assuming u r using a tranny from 80-83. 84+ have longer trannys and therefor the driveline from these later ones will not fit, they will be too long.
|
Wouldnt a longer one be better since my truck is lifted? Im talking about the "front drive line"
|
yes, i understand you are talking about the front and nope unless it is lifted like 6+ inches you cant fit a newer one under there at least i would say not. you could bolt one up and see if it would, but i would not hold my breath. before i did my tranny swap and duals i tried a driveline out of an 85 and it was too long. i have a 3" lift.

Ok thanks a lot! That saved me money and time

Finally found 1 out of an 83 at a1 light trucks and vans on columbia blvd. Yay
