35"s on stock height ifs??

hey i want to see and hear what you guys think about stock ifs trucks with 35"s jammed under? i know there are a few on here who run them. the thing is i need bigger tires "dont we all" and i am planning to sas, but i thought maybe i would try and fire 35"s on early. i would do bj spacers and cut my fenders and thats it. what do you guys think? oyah im a 91 standard cab

camo31_10.50 02-28-2010 12:52 PM

you could do a 3" body lift and call it good with 35's

i think his name is Toyota 1 or something...he ran 35x10.50 boggers on just a 3" body lift...then he SAS'd LOL! he said they didn't rub though!!!

peow130 02-28-2010 12:54 PM

You can fit 33's stock, and 35's are only 1" more in diameter, so a 3" body lift would probably clear them.
The main issue would be frame rubbing

crolison 02-28-2010 01:00 PM

do it, just tub the firewall and start cutting.

here is my friend who is running 0" of lift and 35's

well i am totally against body lifts lol so rule that out. ^^^ that is what i want right there. thats just trim the edge of the fender and smash the fire wall in a bit? i am going to try and sell my 31"s and get some 35"s :D if i can rock 35"s on my stock susp until i have the cash for SAS then i am all for it!

oyah Canada just won gold WooHoo!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

mr ugly 02-28-2010 02:33 PM

with a 12.5 you will also have rubbing on the upper control arm without spacers or a differnt BS wheel.

91_TOYOTA_4x4 02-28-2010 02:36 PM

well i might grab some steel wheels and i can get them with some back spacing? and i want to run some bias tsl super swampers and they are a skinny tire. so i should be ok

mr ugly 02-28-2010 02:40 PM

skinny tires solve most of the issues.

why are you against BLs? if it where me, thats what i would do. since your plannin to SAS, just do a 3in BL and some bj spacers. that way you wouldnt have to cut your fenders, cuz you may not need your fenders trimmed after your SASd. then after the swap, remove the BL

BackGateYota92 02-28-2010 03:53 PM

ya im running a 3" body lift and bj spacers and im easily clearing 33x13.50 swampers and could prolly fit a 35 or 36 with very little rub. Havent had any problems with this setup

91_TOYOTA_4x4 02-28-2010 04:14 PM

i dont like how the frame hangs down on BL's same with seeing the big spacers at the front. ugly imo. i dont care about trimming because when i sas i am running 3: springs and 36"s and keeping it low so chopping the fenders doesn't matter and i can just get another fender if i dont like it. i guess i could go smaller width tire too? dont know. i like the bias tsl ltb's so.. they are already a skinny tire anyways

BackGateYota92 02-28-2010 04:29 PM

you might be able to run the 34x10.50 ltb stock or with just bj spacers??? but i have the 33" ltbs and they are amazing off road. i think its worth the rough ride on the street

BackGateYota92 02-28-2010 04:30 PM

but when you say you dont like seein the big spacers on the front what do you mean???

91_TOYOTA_4x4 02-28-2010 04:34 PM

yeah maybe the 34"s i want bigger than 33"s and my 31"s are too small lol how much did your LTB's cost? and im totally fine with the crappy street drive haha.

you know were the front spacers go between the body and the little beam at the front of the frame were people put the hanger for sas? that gap that happens looks so ugly imo, and i dont have a winch bumper to cover it up. catch my drift?

BackGateYota92 02-28-2010 04:41 PM

Oh i get ya man. When i did my body lift all of the front bumpers were lifted and it looks the same way it did stock. i have pics on pg 103 of the post your pics thread if your interested. oh and im by no means trying to change your mind but im just trying to give ya some options

BackGateYota92 02-28-2010 04:42 PM

oh and the 33x13.50x15 were like 159 a piece from summit racing

91_TOYOTA_4x4 02-28-2010 04:45 PM

yeah im just not a BL guy haha i know it would be better off with a BL but its not my thing hah. teah i will go check the thread :p

159 damn thats decent lol well im going to go work my ass off next weekend and try and sell my 31"s

BackGateYota92 02-28-2010 04:48 PM

oh its pg 102 the green 92 ex cab but ya love the ltbs but just wish they came in a fatter 35 or a really fat 33. lol

91_TOYOTA_4x4 02-28-2010 04:57 PM

haha yeah lol. your truck is badass man! i see u have the valance to cover the spacers up in the front, my valance got rapped haha. but damn those 33" LTB's look big hey? you got me thinking now...

BackGateYota92 02-28-2010 05:04 PM

haha thanks man the truck is getting 5.29's and a lockright next month if plans go right. lol but ya the whole lift set up was not that expensive and if you get the ltbs you will love em. they are just an all around nasty tire that clean out amazing
