3" suspension lift on 83' - heavy vibration in 4 Wheel drive

just put a 3" Rough Country suspension lift on my truck, all new leafs and shocks. Its great, except that now, there is a vibration in 4 wheel drive. One friend said he had to drop his tranny mount a small amount in his jeep, as he encountered the same issue. The kit came came with 2.5 degree shims for the rear.. .. would i need something like this for the fronts? ... Any Ideas would be great!.. First lift on my truck.. i have had her for 15 years.. .. Thanks

How fast are you driving when it vibrates? 4WD isn't really good for anything over 55 MPH according to Toyota.

The front drive line should have a double cardan joint (also called CV joint) installed at the t-case end, which means the pinion of the front axle should point directly at the t-case. When you installed the lift, you changed the plane of the front pinion in relation to the t-case. This is most likely the source of the problem.

Either that or you are maxing out the travel of the double cardan joint, which basically means the joint is binding up because it doesn't have enough travel. If you were to unbolt the shaft from the front differential, can you put the end of the shaft lower than the flange of the diff without any binding? If not, the double cardan joint might be binding while driving.

Just some ideas. Hope it helps!
