3.4 swaps

I'm having issues with my 3.4 swap on the idle. It's at a high idle and I've messed with all the vaccum lines plugged and plugged in and it seems to just stay at 2000 rpms. Has anyone else ran into this issue. My motor is out of a 2001 Tacoma. Any info will help thanks.

is the throttle cable too tight? Very common. You have to modify the bracket to give the cable slack.

No. Throrttle cable is fine not tight at all. I know its either a sensor or a vacuum line. I do have the cold air intake on it.

Well what codes are being tripped ??

Throttle body wore so hard the shaft is hanging up ?? Allowing air it be drawn in around the shaft??:wrench:

Leaks in your air intake system??

Doesn't show any codes. No intake is good. No cracks. It runs fine just needs to not idle at almost 2000 rpms

Did you do the timing belt perhaps the cam timing is off.

Wiring glitch in the harness??

You have allowed this to warm enough so the coolant temp sensor reads hot enough to shut the The IAC??:wrench:

Failed coolant temp sensor keeping the IAC open.

What is the coolant temp sensor reading ??

Yeah gets pretty warm. The gauge get to where it reads at normal temp. I doubt its glitch. Toyo only swaps did the harness. I didn't have the full exhaust hooked up. Could that be if the o2 sensor isnt getting any flow?

The temperature gauge and the coolant temp sensor are different

If the coolant temp sensor is not working correct could just be corrosion the ECM will keep the Idle Air Valve open

The idle Air valve could also be stuck in the open position.

Bad ECM could be the cause of this as well.

I went through 2 before I cured my problems.:wrench:

That's what it was replaced the intake gaskets and new air intake valve and idles just fine now right at 650.
