3.0 3VZE - Strange air intake noise...with video
This is a 1994 Toyota Pickup 3.0 3VZE 4x4
Hey guys, so I can't figure out what this noise is, its definitely coming from the airbox. Sounds like the engine is not getting enough air to me, its a loud sucking noise. Any ideas? Even with the airbox open (no filter restriction) it makes the noise (its even louder).
On another note, it looks like the central fan belt drive has a wobble to it. Maybe its just the normal engine vibration, what do you think?

It very well could be transmitted sound if the fan bracket (false water pump) bearing is shot i.e. the likely the source of the wobble if nothing is bent. The sound is metallic to my ear. Other bearings, the timing belt idler bearings and water pump. What is the timing belt/water pump history?
Also, oil level ok?

Not actually sure of the timing belt/water pump history but the engine was rebuilt 18k miles ago, I'm hoping it was done then. Yeah oil level is good.
Just today the fan belt started squeaking on cold start up. Once the engine warmed up, the squeak went away.
And this is probably a separate issue, but on acceleration from idle the engine tends to stumble/miss/bog down if I accelerate too rapidly. Could be injectors? At higher RPMs the engine seems fine and has plenty of power.

Did you find a fix for this? I’m having the exact same issue. Same noise same wobble
