22re performance at high altitude... what's your experience been?

Just got back from a little weekend trip in the Sierras. I averaged about 21mpg. 353 miles for a full tank (a new record for me).
I have some things but will save it for another thread. I did notice I had difficulty starting the truck. It took a few turns and some gas to get her going.
A significant amount of power loss (understandable) going up the hills and a pain in the butt watching all the cars and several Prius's passing you up

I've had my 22RE here at 9,000' for many years. It does fine, but you better get used to having the pedal on the floor! In the high country 4LO is a necessity and a good tune-up is helpful.
