22r drives like it’s pulling big tires
I have an 81 Toyota pickup with a 22r from a newer truck. It had a troubled 350 in it pulling 37s. Finally got it all buttoned up with the 22r and 5 speed trans, and with stock tires it drives like I’m trying to pull big tires. It has 4.10 gears (from what I was told) and when I drive it, I can shift 1st and 2nd and if on flat ground 3rd and if down hill 4th and 5th. Could it be timing issues? Or a shotty trans? Carb? I’m not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Although, I adjusted my timing and With the distributor all the way turned the closest I can get it to 0 is between 8 and 5. Runs a lot better than it did before adjusting, but still a little sluggish.

All engine fluids are good, haven’t checked the trans fluid in a bit, maybe I’ll give that a check. Imma kick myself in the a** if that’s the problem.

I’ll try that out in the morning. Thanks for your input, appreciate it.
