2002 Tundra 3.4L timing belt replacement ?

I have 114K miles on the truck and have never done anything to it, other than replace the drive belts, hoses and normal maintenance. I read somewhere that the timing belt and water pump should be replaced @ 90K. Am I living on the edge by going over 25K on the timing belt replacement?

Thanks
JimP

Timing Belts wear out by normal use and time.

Do you know if the timing belt is original?

Many people have gone over the mileage on the normal maintenance schedule without issue, so you may or may not be living on the edge, however.... that isn't good practice.

While Toyota Timing belts tend to last a a long time, I would replace the timing belt, with both age and mileage taken into consideration. Replacing the timing belt will give you piece of mind and to keep your engine reliable for years to come. :great:

Thanks for the reply.

To answer your question,Yes it is the original timing belt.
Would it be a good idea to replace the camshaft seals while I have it disassembled? As far as I know it's not leaking any oil.
I never added any oil between changes in the 15 years I've owned it.

Thanks again for the reply.

Jim
