Hello,

my pickup all of a sudden is having a very rough time shifting gears, especially at start up. When driving, I would have to depress clutch, go to neutral, release clutch, depress again and then into gear. The clutch pedal would sometimes briefly stick on the floor. It is parked now so I don't damage the clutch/transmission any further. I'm hoping the clutch isn't damaged, the transmission fluid was a little low. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

A pedal sticking to the floor...if not the floormat, you'd have to get down under there and see, as you push the pedal with your arm, whether anything in the clutch and bracket assembly is binding, loose, or broke. Or could be low fluid in clutch master cylinder. Check for a small reservoir near the engine that takes DOT 3, usually smaller in size to the brake master cylinder reservoir. If very low fluid, there might be air pockets trapped and removing it involves bleeding the clutch line. It can be fun.

Tranny fluid is one thing to check. Low, too much, or contaminated, you'd likely have some gear noises as well like grinding or clunking.

Both fluids should be changed periodically.
