1985 Toyota Diesel Pickup Bed Removal?

Just curious how similar the bed removal process is to the 22re.

Remove taillights / wires
Remove screws for diesel piping
Remove 4 bolts on the edges of the bed(?)

Any recommendations if it's rusted? Penetrating oil spray, heat up the bolts?

Thanks!

Shouldn't be very different, I'd think same frame, tank, lights, etc. Man, I wish I had a diesel.

Soak the bolts in PB Blaster a few days before and take a wire brush and get the threads as clean as possible. Then hopefully you got a impact wrench and set it on the highest settings. Mine was a pain to get off.

If using wrenchs, here is what I have done in the past. Lock them together and keep them flush witheach other and you can get alot of leverage. I have broken bed bolts using this trick.

Haha! I love the box wrench cheater. I still remember the day my grandfather showed me how to do that.

Lol..It does come in handy. Not everyone knows about it and it has helped numerous times over the years. I have gotten enough torque on one to bust a bolt and when it let loose, I wound up on my rear, but hey it works.
