'04 Tacoma V6 5VZ-FE Timing belt replacement help

I have an '04 Tacoma V6 5VZ-FE with a timing belt Is it the same procedure for removing the belt as it is for the chain in the manual? I also plan to change the pump at the same time. Anything else I need to know? Thanks!

tacoma 2004 belts and pumps

Just bought an 04' Tacoma TRD 4x4 V6. I need to change the belts, water pump, and what ever else I see when I'm in there. Does anyone have any suggestions on brands of the parts? What else should I order to make my truck last longer? Plan on having it for the next ten years.

Thanks.

This Link to Toyota Factory Service manuals will have the procedures you need.

Advice on parts-a lot of people say to stick with factory parts.

Make you truck last longer: regular/preventive maintenance, keep your tires rotated balanced, don't abuse it...

Thanks. Found a bunch of info on tacomaworld also. No one has mentioned anything about brands yet. Figured factory parts are the best if no one is complaining about them anyway.

I have an 84' and 86' also. I like working on my own vehicles because I have peace of mind that way. Having other people do the job is more money, but more importantly, I don't know exact workmanship they put into it.

Thanks again.

There are no "brands". B/c factory parts have the highest quality and QC.

You can get any brands at your local PepO'RileyAutoAdvanced, but take about +/- 20,000 miles off the factory advised service intervals.

No cheap-o China WP will outlast a Made in Japan to Japanese specifications, Aisin WP.
