rock rails sooner than later?

I have an '04 V8 Sport 4Runner.

Tonight I drove over to a friend's borrow her crock pot for my Rapture Chili....and this is the most expensive crock pot I've ever borrowed. We had the most intense rain storm in Denver I've seen in 40 years, flooding, tons of Lightning....crazy. A random manhole cover was flopping around on the street on my way home, I was lucky enough to drive over it without seeing it in the rain (the guy in front of me just kept driving and didn't swerve so I had no idea it was in the road to begin with). The cover got pinched by my tire rolling over, it stood the cover up and wedged it between the street and my right running board. BANG! is all I heard and then a bunch of scraping. I pulled over and the plastic trim on the edge of the runner was pushed back into the rear tire about 10 inches. The runner itself was bent up about 6 from it being flat. I stood on it to bend it back at home, it's about as close as I can get it back to level...but it's tweaked a bit now. It was fun driving in the rain but damn...

Question is, I suppose this gives me an excuse to mount rock rails sooner than I'd planned. Who's product is the best value?

Thanks.

I don't have any personal experience with them. But, from what I've read, you can't go wrong with Shrockworks. Great quality, great customer support, and decent price are a few of the things I've heard. The only bad thing I've ever read about them is lead time on their products.

Good luck.

4Crawler's bars seem pretty stout. I don't have any experience with them personally, but those are what I would put on my rig.

I'm still waiting for the Shrockworks sliders I ordered May 1st, I hope its worth the wait. They look like they're very well made. Hopefully will avoid this next time...
