Front Sagging?
 

I've got a 03' 4runner Sport with about 75,000 miles on it. It seems that the front passenger side of the truck is about 1 inch lower than the other side. Any of you guys have any idea what could be the issue(s)? Thanks in advanced.

leaky shocks? thats what i would check first.

Shocks don't affect ride height as far as I know.

I've got the XREAS on it. Do you guys think it could be a problem with that? From what I understand, XREAS is a hydraulic system. Could there be a leak?

So if I'm looking towards the front of the truck, the left lower control arm is more parallel to the ground than the right. Is there any adjustments I can make or should I just suck it up and take it to a shop.

probably a dumb question, but are you sure you are on completely flat ground? it does make a big difference.

even your garage floor isnt level.

put a level on it, and check. you need to find a surface that is level from left to right, and front to back doesnt matter in this case. and perfectly flat too.

Regarding XReas, if it was that, I think you would notice a significant difference in the drive feel. I doubt that a "small leak" is even possible with XReas considering how pressurized it is. It would most likely be a spraying all over the garage type leak if it existed ;).

It doesn't matter where the truck is parked, its visually sagging to that side. I'm thinking I might take it somewhere to get checked...but I open to any other sugestions. Thanks for the replies.

Have you done any mods to the front of your truck, aftermarket bumper etc. If you havent and you have not seen any fluid on the ground where you park then it could be a sagging or defective spring. I think that it is a little weird that it is the passenger side as there's a little more weight on the drivers side. Also is it a v8 or v6. If it were me I would have it checked out but I dont know how far you will get with the dealer. That being said you really should take it to somebody with knowledge about the x-reas system. I really dont think it is the x-reas system its self but you have to deal with it to change the springs.

-Put at least 1/2 tank of fuel in the truck.

-Sit in the driver's seat

-Have someone measure the height to the center of the wheel arches at both front corners.

I'll bet you a Beefeater martini that you'll get results that are near-equal.

Toyotas (and most other cars) are factory corner-weighted to take into account the weight of an average driver and a half-tank of fuel. This can result in a lopsided appearance when they're unladen. Use the search function, and I think you'll find many posts regarding this.

To check for leaks in your X-REAS shocks, look at the top of each shock. If the shock is soaked with oil, it's likely you have a problem. Our '03 has started to show signs of seepage from the top of the LR shock, but still seems to be performing OK.
