Anyone been able to trick the tire pressure sensors yet ?

My boss has an 08 Tacoma with TPS.

He got aftermarket wheels and they say they could not fit the TPS devices with the new wheels. I am sure I read somewhere of a way to trick the sensors and then have them give off the good signal to turn out the light.

Anywone got any experience ???

Thanks

David

This does not trick the sensors but does shut off the dash indicator light: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t170576.html

Hope this helps...

he could try to use a band sensor, it has a cradle that wraps around the drop center of the wheel, 90% of the time this will work, but sometimes the band can break. I have never ran in the a wheel that i couldnt make the sensor work in her.

strange why couldn't they use the old sensor? was it because they didnt have a rebuild kit or the type of wheel. I put them on aftermarket wheels all the time at my job (Discount Tire Co.)

some wheels have the valve hole positioned to where they sensor would be subject to damage during in stall because it is in a position where it cant be installed after the tire.

run into it quite frequently at tire kingdom

No big drama with TPMS that you want to disable. Just earth out at the module in the passenger kickwell. 10 minute job max.
