2007 4runner V8 4x4

Hey guys & gals,
I have owned a 1995 3.0 4runner ( manual )for almost 20 years now. Im looking at a used 2007 4runner V8 4x4 (auto) .... Does anyone know of any issues with that engine? Or other common issues that I may want to be prepared for?

Basically the same 2uz v8 engine used in the Tundra, Sequoia and the Land Cruiser -- just like most Toyotas it's very reliable as long as you do the PM. For this engine it's got a timing belt that's due every 90k.

I have a 06 v8 have yet to be disappointed the gas mileage is the same as my 86 4 cyl turbo 4 runner but with way more POWER the only concern I have is the chunk I hear when I break hard I have found out that the drive line to the rear axle should be lubed at every oil change other than that its been great!

Thanks again for the input. After months of shopping I wound up with an 06 4.0 with 200K on it.

Wife and i both have 2003 V8's. Awesome vehicles. I have owned a bunch of toyota's of all kinds and it is definetly my favorite. Mine gets the hell beat out of it and keeps going,at 226,000 mi.!

Wheel change out to Taco 2017 Ltd 18"?

I have a 2007 4Runner Limited 8 cyl. with sport suspension and the OEM 18" 6 lug wheels.
Can I switch those peeling alloy wheels out with 2017 Tacoma Limited OEM original aluminum wheels, same size?

In that gen the 6cyl version actually has a timing chain, 03/09 I think. I would love the v8 myself but think I would probably search for a v6 just to not have to deal with the timing belt every 90k.
