07 Tacoma transmission output shaft wire
 

Does anyone know what this wire is? it's coming out of the automatic transmission. I just replace the U joints and when I tried to reinstall the drive shaft it would not go all the way in the transmission. I pulled the seal and saw this wire. I don't want to remove it if it's some sort of sensor, but it is hindering the drive shaft.
