Zuk Mod Installed With Discovery Coils

I've seen it done with TJ coils and Black Magic, but after helping my friend install OME springs on his '03 Discovery II, I figured I'd try and recycle these. Before the install, the truck had 3" blocks and the stock springs were sagged down to the overload leafs. The front Discovery springs were 14.5" up front and 15" in the rear (uncompressed). I decided to go with the front springs (about 180lb) and if they didn't lift it enough I would swap out. Install was the same as TJ coils, but I didn't want to cut anything for the first (and only) install. With the shackles attached and axle hanging, the spring was at 14", so there was no need to install a capture beyond the bump stop. Dropped it down and the spring is about 12" with the full weight of the vehicle. It now sit about 1" higher than before, which is most likely a true 3" lift vs 3" blocks on saggy springs. Sitting on 35's and also a 3" body lift (also installed when I bought it). Also, I would not recommend trying this with stock length shocks

Shackles are not straight up and down when sitting on level ground, but almost

Nice lookin Runner, Invader. I did that mod with, as you mentioned, the Black Magic Springs.. Love em! I might do a serious leaf pack one day, but being on a budget, I figured "hmmm, 70$ or 800$? Yeah, 70$" lol. My zuk mod is in my sig. Have a good Sunday, Invader!

I was originally going to use some 2" NWOR springs and lift shackles (which I have) but figured I'd give this a try first. If it works out well enough offroad then I'll sell the NWOR springs and just keep it like this but I like being a guinea pig

Stock leafs, right? And you didn't cut down the 14.5" springs at all, right?

Yes and yes.

As for the tires, I like them, but I'm trying to trade for some 33's. I can't afford the gears to really turn these 35's
